Cicero, NY

A flooded Cicero basement is far more often a sump pump that lost the race than a sewer that backed up, and those are different jobs at different prices. The town's hazard annex records a storm dropping up to six inches in a short time in which many homes around Brewerton flooded because the pumps could not keep up.

Clay, NY

Clay drains north to its own plant on Oak Orchard Road rather than south to Metro, so a whole street losing its drains here is a county pump station question before it is a plumber's. And with the median house built in 1978, the pipe under a Clay yard is more likely plastic than clay tile, which usually makes the answer cheaper than the homeowner fears.

Salina, NY

A backwater valve is worth pricing in Salina for a reason that has nothing to do with water arriving at the house. The county models the Brown Avenue and Ley Creek pump stations at 49.4 and 43.2 percent content damage in a large flood, and a pump station out of action is a street with nowhere to send its sewage.

DeWitt, NY

There is live county work under DeWitt aimed squarely at wet weather backups, and it can decide whether you need a contractor at all. The Meadowbrook-Limestone sewers are being relined and their manholes rehabilitated to keep stormwater out of the sanitary system, so a drain that only misbehaves in the rain may not be your lateral.

Manlius, NY

In Manlius, a downspout or a sump pump discharging into the sanitary sewer is a compliance matter, and it is far better found by you than by an inspector. The county is under a state Order on Consent to investigate and reduce inflow and infiltration in the Bishop Brook basin, and a camera crew has been working the trunk sewer since January 2026.

Fayetteville is the only municipality in this metro whose sewer ordinance names tree roots as a design condition, which tells you what a root job here usually really is. The same chapter still contemplates asbestos-cement building sewers, and that changes who may lawfully cut a Fayetteville lateral.

Camillus, NY

If a Camillus line keeps collapsing rather than simply blocking, that is the expected finding here and it needs a camera before it needs a cable. 53.4 percent of the town was built between 1940 and 1969, the highest mid-century share of any town in the county, and the census place of Fairmount inside it reaches 72.3 percent.

Baldwinsville, NY

In Baldwinsville a drain that only slows during a thaw is often a system event rather than a fault in your house. The village has a documented case of snowmelt infiltration pushing a wastewater lift station into overflow, and an inflow study of the Ellsworth Road pump station is on its mitigation list to find out where the water gets in.

Marcellus, NY

Outside the village, Marcellus is septic country, and the tank and field have to be ruled in or out before anyone touches the pipe. The Town levies no sewer user fees at all and is not a member of the county's Consolidated Sanitary District, so there is no public main to blame and no county line to call.

Skaneateles, NY

Skaneateles sits outside the county sewer district entirely, so nobody from the county is coming to look at the public side of your line here. The Village runs its own treatment plant on Fennell Street, its own service line and its own monthly billing, which makes the village the first call and the body that decides what happens at the main.

Jamesville, NY

Jamesville's wastewater leaves the hamlet through a single pumped facility, and the county models that station at 38.0 percent structure damage in a flood, the highest of any wastewater facility in the DeWitt annex. In a large flood a Jamesville property should expect the sewer to be unavailable rather than merely slow, which is the case a backwater valve is bought for.

Solvay, NY

Solvay sits on the most specifically documented drainage ground in Onondaga County, which means a backup here can be argued from a public record rather than from a hunch. Fay Road, in the Town of Geddes that surrounds the village, is the only road anywhere in the county hazard plan with the words sewer backups recorded against it.
